Black Business Month at PREIT

All News

In celebration of Black Business Month, PREIT properties partnered with local businesses and tenants like Curate Noir and Buy Local, Buy Black to host showcases and expos.

The showcases brought Black-owned vendors into the mall, introducing our shoppers to new products and small locally-owned businesses. The vendors gained exposure to new customers and had the opportunity to network with other Black-owned businesses. Our showcases featured a wide variety of vendors with apparel, art, natural skincare, home décor, candles, and more!

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin visited Patrick Henry Mall to tour our minority-owned businesses in recognition of Black-Owned Business Month. Watch the coverage here.

On social media our properties highlighted their Black-owned tenants with weekly spotlights. This increased presence on our social media platforms was met with excitement from our followers, who can support our Black-owned businesses year-round!

Black Business Month may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to stop supporting Black-owned businesses. We’re thankful to the Black-owned businesses at our properties for their contributions to enhancing the shopping experience through diverse offerings and the inspiration they provide our communities. We’re committed to promoting these tenants all year through our Black-Owned Business 365 initiative. Check out your local mall’s event page to see all the Black-owned businesses at each property.
