Chambersburg Mall is the only enclosed regional shopping mall within 30 miles and offers the extended market a well established, family-friendly shopping experience.
The center is easily accessible off US I-81 and has close proximity to US Route 30 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. More than 52,000 cars travel on the adjacent I-81 each day.
Chambersburg sits in the heart of Franklin County, a stable county in terms of population growth, and south-central Pennsylvania’s #1 county for commercial business and job growth, which increased 2.8% in 2009.
The market area is rich in agriculture and farming, while also lending itself to manufacturing and distribution industries with notable businesses such as Ventura Foods, Target Distribution Center, Olympic Steel, Vogele American, Kmart Regional Specialty Center, and Ozburn-Hessey Logistics. Education and government are the region’s top employers, followed closely behind by Letterkenny Army Depot and Summit Health totaling over 17,000 employees.
Market-exclusive national retailers such as Aéropostale, American Eagle Outfitters and Victoria's Secret, combined with Carmike Cinema's, the only movie house within 20 miles, provide for a considerable and consistent draw.
Over 8,000 students are enrolled in the Chambersburg Area School District. There are also three colleges in the market: Wilson College, Shippensburg University, and Penn State Mount Alto Campus, with over 9,000 students.
