Specialty Leasing Representative

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for leasing specialty retailing programs and offering unique product line in order to expand the merchandise mix and visual consistency to common area retailers
  • Liaison with shopping center managers for specialty leasing to monitor merchandising preparation, employee performance and overall operation in order to constantly upgrade professionalism
  • Coordinates with managers operational items as they relate to specialty leasing such as the amenities of the program are professional and in accordance with rules and regulations
  • Communicates on a weekly basis with Regional Specialty Leasing Representative, informing of new deals, problems, delinquencies, sales, revenues, etc
  • Ensures adherence to guidelines and procedures for specialty retailing program and enforces all clauses of the Specialty Leasing Agreement
  • Screens, selects and procures specialty retailers
  • Communicate tactfully, skillfully, and persuasively to negotiate short-term leases for retailers, including carts, kiosks and in-line stores on favorable terms to the company
  • Provides suggestions and assists merchants with visual merchandising plans to ensure mall standards and criteria are met
  • Ensures that income and budgets are met by working in conjunction with shopping center managers, as well as goals for "additional income" and minimum rent projects are achieved
  • Coordinates activities with retail leasing representatives vis-a-vis potential tenants
  • Works with marketing directors to coordinate use of common area
  • Reviews specialty leasing bookkeeping receivable and sales reports for each shopping center
  • Negotiates Specialty Leasing Agreements on an ongoing basis to obtain pertinent information for license execution for malls

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or Communications
  • Minimum of two years in shopping center industry
  • Combination of equivalent education and experience necessary to effectively perform the responsibilities of the position
  • Additional coursework and/or participation in activities and programs of the International Council of Shopping Centers
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of management, staff, outside legal counsel, bankers, merchants, etc.
  • Effective interpersonal skills
